Netflix documentary

I helped to produce an episode for a science series, “Connected”, on Netflix. It featured Estonia’s cloud-based digital infrastructure.

 

Vice on HBO

This New York-based broadcasting company flew to Estonia to see the future and share it with the world. I helped them tell the story as a local fixer/producer.

 

Writing

Stories from Moldova

My team at Journo Birds is trying to understand Moldova better. We travel around the country, interview and film people. We then write those stories down and create YouTube videos.

 

In these English-language articles, I brought Estonian science and scientists into the spotlight for Research in Estonia, an Estonian Science Council’s web platform. The stories were often also published on other media platforms like the Estonian Public Broadcasting news site or an online news site Estonian World.


 

I was awarded Estonia’s most prestigious investigative journalism award Bonnier for the article series that took down a dishonest minister in Estonia. As a journalist for Estonia’s most popular investigative newspaper Eesti Ekspress I mostly wrote about politics and social issues.

 

I have collaborated with various media platforms like Daily Mail, Fair Observer and IPS News.

Research

 

To assess the level of corruption in the defense sector in Estonia, I interviewed dozens of experts, analyzed multiple of studies and legal texts to conduct the research.

 

As a local expert, I followed and analyzed how free the journalists in Estonia were and regularly wrote reports and articles for this independent NGO to promote and defend press freedom.

I co-founded a fixing and media agency Journo Birds, that assists foreign journalists interested in telling stories from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Moldova.
